Homes In A Box

Dear Friends,

As we move into the coming months, you're going to be in the midst of what we hope is a memorable event for all involved. The citizens of Cheyenne will be building and sending a home to the Gulf Coast to help Habitat for Humanity rebuild after the devastating affects of Hurricane Katrina. Aside from sending a home to the Gulf Coast , we will also be building a home for our local Habitat for Humanity chapter. The home that stays in Cheyenne will be turned over to the Central High School 's Industrial Arts Class for completion. We're calling this project “Homes in a Box”; a joint partnership between Habitat for Humanity, local businesses, and the citizens of Cheyenne . This project is pided into three steps, with each step needing support from you!

Step 1: $25,000 in cash is needed to sponsor the Cheyenne Homes in a Box project. The money that is raised will pay for professional contractors to perform tasks such as electrical and plumbing installation. Additionally, the dollars are used for the laying of the foundation, and materials which are not supplied in the Homes in a Box package and any skilled labor.

- If you would like to make a tax deductible monetary donation, please ask your server for more details! -

Step 2: While we raise the monetary portion needed for this home, we also must secure materials needed to construct the homes here in Cheyenne. For instance, we need 60 lbs of roofing nails, a gas water heater, phone jack, etc. The list may seem intimidating but when our community pulls together there's no limit to what can happen. (A complete list of materials needed to construct the home is posted at the entrance of the restaurant)

- If you would like to donate materials, please ask to speak with a manager! - (Click Here for a list of materials)

Step 3: Build Day! Once we've raised the money and materials needed to construct the homes, it's time to put on your tool belt and come help us build! We anticipate that over 300 volunteers will be needed to construct the homes. We hope to build the homes on August 29, 2007 – the two year remembrance of Hurricane Katrina.

Well, there you have it; now it's up to us as a community to come together and make this home a reality! We look forward to working with you on this exciting project!
