KYOY’S MOTHERS DAY GIVE-A-WAY WINNER ~ WANDA STACY
Mothers Day in my eyes is one of the most important days of the year. Mothers are taken for granted everyday. most people do not realize how tough their job really is. A mothers job is 24 hours a day/365 days a year and no matter how old your children get, you never stop being their mother.
My mom is my hero, best friend, and a woman that I will always look up to. This women started her career as a mom at a young age and has beat many obsticles that have crossed her path. She beat cancer at a young age and survived as a single mother of 3 for many years. She worked so hard, but still had time for us. We may not have had all of the material things everyone else had, but we had so much love. Now, at this time in her life when she is suppose to be kicking back and relaxing, she is still not only a mother to my siblings and myself, but she is also raising 2 grandchildren as her own. My mom has traveled across many states to be with me when both of my children were born, and she has never missed a birthday. My mom works a demanding full-time job, but still has time to be a wonderful mother and grandmother. For all of these reasons, and many more, I believe that my mom is very deserving of a beautiful, relaxing Mothers Day...I just wish I could be there to share it with her. BY: Chasity Baker
KYOY’S MOTHERS DAY RUNNER UP ~ RAE JEAN BOSLEY
Hi! My name is Alyssa Dicken, I am 20 years old and the daughter of Rae Jean Bosley. I am so excited to get the opportunity to tell you how wonderful my mom is. Mothers day is coming up and to me the perfect mothers day gift is showing how appreciative you are of your mother. I appreciate my mom and every thing that she has ever done for me. I love you mom! My mom is my hero, and I know that sounds so cliche and every ones mother is there hero but to me my mother is the strongest person I know, and this is why. With out my mom I do not know where I would be today. She saved both of our lives. The first few years of my life were very hard for the both of us. I had a father that was not there for either one of us, and then a step father that abused me. If it was not for my mom sticking up to him and having the courage to get us both out of there we would probably not be where we are today. She has shown me that I can be a survivor from the horrible abuse that I faced from my step father and that we can be better then the person he is. I have grown up with the mind set that things happen for a reason. Our horrible past has only made our relationship stronger. we look to one another for guidance and support, I help her and she helps me :0) I am so grateful to have such a caring mother. I love my mom with every single piece of my heart, and I think that sometimes people take what they have for granted. I wish that every one had the relationship that my mom and I have. She is my best friend. Yes sometimes we disagree on things and we have our little fights here and there, but those disagreements only bring us closer to understanding one another. Our motto, Live every second as if it were our last. We never know when we are going to lose a loved one. For us every day is a great day, and a new beginning. My mom is my number one fan and my biggest supporter in every thing that I do.She is always wanted the best for me, She puts me first in every thing and this mothers day I want to put her first. She is always thinking about making every one else happy and never does any thing for her self. That's just the person she is, she is a mother to all of my friends, and a friend to many. Mom I want you to know that I love you and I want to tell you thank you. Thank you for showing me how to be winner and not a fail-er. Thank you for giving me your unconditional love. And thank you for always pushing me to be the best that I can be. You are an amazing woman and I can only hope that I will be just as great of a role model to my kids one day as you have been to me. You are my best friend. And remember at bowling on Tuesday when we were watching that little old lady bowel, and her daughter was there bowling too and you said that is going to be us one day, and you are right mom. I can see us 40 years from now still bowling and going out and having a good time. I want you to know that when the day comes for me to move and start my own family, no matter how far I am You will always be in my heart and we WILL talk every day. Distance will never get in between the our friend ship. You have raised me to be the woman I am today and I hope to be as successful as you are with the years to come. I will always be your number one fan in every thing you do as I know you will be mine to. I love you mom So much. Happy Mothers day! This is your day and you deserve to have a great one! I wish every one a happy mothers day!! Have a fantistic day!!!
KYOY’s MOTHER DAY GIVE-A-WAY 3rd Place ~ Priscilla Barker
My mom Priscilla Barker is a tough cookie! With the help of my dad she raised 5 kids 4 boys and one girl. My mom and I are the only girls in the household. My mom cooks a homemade dinner every night but Thursday night because thatʼs cleaning day and we order pizza that night. My mom wakes up at 2:30 AM every morning and goes to work from 5am to 1:30 PM. When she comes home and my dad is at work she is charge of running us all around town and picking us up and then cookʼs dinner. She is a great mom, we have our differences but she is always willing to help me out in a tough situation when I need her or someone to talk to. It was been hard to bond with my mom as I was growing up, but she always did her best to keep me out of trouble and stuff like that. I hated it when I was little because I couldnʼt do what I wanted but now I thank her for all the discipline and grounding. If my brothers get in alright she will come in my room and talk to me and tell me everything is going to be ok. She has the biggest heart! She tries to be at every baseball game, every concert, or any special event/occasion! She always helps me out when I am nervous or stressed and makes sure that the clothes I buy arenʼt tacky or ugly and match. Ha-ha. She always helps me prepare for prom and dances! After all I am the only girl, but it doesnʼt make me spoiled. I will not see her mothers day or mothers day weekend at all because she will be Denver watching my little brothers baseball tournament while I get ready to fly out to New Orleans. Motherʼs day means a lot to me especially because of all the great things that my mom has taught me and everything she does for me. She is one of a kind. This motherʼs day she deserves something special and a good motherʼs day but not being able to see her is going to be tough. I thank her for everything! Mom is my biggest role model and I look up to her everyday! I love my mother to death and wouldnʼt trade anything for her!

We are excited to announce that students from McCormick Jr. High and Central High have been given the opportunity to build a home for Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County. Additionally, students will travel to the Gulf Coast area in May to participate in the Jimmy Carter Work Project – a joint partnership between Habitat for Humanity International and former President Jimmy Carter. Students from both schools have already begun raising funds and materials to build the Cheyenne Home. At our most recent fundraiser, students were able to raise just over $8,000 and secure material donations totaling $2,000. Not only will we be raising funds and materials to construct the home, we will also be accepting donations to send students to the Gulf Coast to help build the home and to take part in an unforgettable experience. We hope you will consider supporting this great cause. Please keep in mind; all monetary and material donations are tax deductable. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact our Project Manager, Josh Nicholas at 307.214.1457 or Brooke Taylor at 307.637.0301.
